3 Ways to Handle Haters


In life there’s no avoiding getting haters. We all have our own world views and most of the time those differences will lead to clashes and conflict. It’s even more evident today with the rise of blogging and social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. ...Here are three tips that I’ve followed and learned through the years that you might find helpful. --- Carlo S. 1. Ignore them.

If there’s one thing you have to understand about haters is that they do not criticize, they attack. They take pleasure in putting you down. There is absolutely no point in trying to engage with them (especially online) because they’ve already made up their mind to shoot you down with their AK-47 even before you raise the flag for parley, lol.

Remove them from your immediate consciousness because they will just wear you down and cause undeserved stress. They can distract you from doing what you’re supposed to be doing. Remember: you can never please them or satisfy them.

What about the feedback that they give? If you have the strength, patience, and will power to see through the hate and find the nuggets of wisdom, then go for it. If not, don’t worry. You can always get feedback from non-haters and it will just be as good, if not better.

HOWEVER, if the time comes that there is a genuine window or opportunity for you to work with them and settle your differences, go for it. Take the initiative and be compassionate.

2. Focus on the work at hand. Keep shipping. Best defense is success.

If you’re worried about them tearing down your reputation then let me share one piece of advice that one of my mentors once told me: the hardest thing to argue against is success. If that’s the case then instead of giving your haters the time of day, focus on your work and in delivering successful products or campaigns.

If you’re just starting out, build on the little successes and let it feed your psyche so that you have the confidence, strength, and determination to follow through. Use your failures as a reminder so that you are more cautious and so that you don’t miss the important little details.

3. Spend more time with the people who really matter to you.

The worst thing you can do is get affected by haters and bring that negativity home to the people that truly matter to your life. Don’t get affected. If ever you do, cast it out before you go home. Draw strength, inspiration, and joy from the love of your family and real friends.

Most importantly, pray for grace. You will not be able to do this on your own.

Don’t get affected. Don’t get infected. Don’t spread it.

Focus. Ship. Love.

Remember that moving on is the end goal – Expressing your feelings will liberate you in a way, but it is important not to dwell on the negative feelings or to over-analyze the situation. Getting stuck in hurtful feelings like blame, anger, and resentment will rob you of valuable energy and prevent you from healing and moving forward.

Break-up Recovery Pointers

1. Don't ever be sorry for being sad. And don't apologize for crying - what you are going through is completely normal and healthy.

2. Don't bother asking why.

3. Whatever you do, don't listen to any sad songs or music. It will only make you feel worse.

4. Beauty may only be skin deep and true beauty might lie in the soul, but it doesn't hurt to have your outsides looking good when your insides are badly bruised.

5.Don't be bitter.

6. Travel, or go somewhere you've never been. You need to get away from your immediate surroundings and realize that there is huge world out there with endless possibilities and billions of people that you've never met.

7. When you lock yourself in your room - miserable and weepy - the space picks up the negative energy and your room becomes a depressing place to be. You need to let out the sadness and allow some new air in.

8. Find a new passion.

9. Sometimes if you are having difficulty coming to terms with something, all you need to do is to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

10. Being single doesn't have to be about being alone.

When God’s Blessings Come, Will You Be Ready? - Let me tell you a story.

One day, two middle-aged gentlemen were walking home.
All of a sudden, it started to rain. Really hard.
Because both of them didn’t have an umbrella, the two guys got soaking wet.
After a few minutes of torrential rain, the first man cursed.

“Damn you! What have I done? Why are you so angry at me?” he growled, hurling his fist to the sky. “Why are you punishing me? I’m minding my own business here, walking to my home, when You had to make it rain!”

But the second man’s response was totally different. He began to skip, dance, and sing like Gary V in a concert. “Yeepee! Life is wonderful!” he hollered.

With venom in his voice, the first man asked, “What are you so happy about? Can’t you see we’re wet as frogs in a swamp!”

The second man said, “My dear friend, I’m a farmer. The rain is nourishing my crops. I will have a bountiful harvest this year!”

It was the same rain, the same amount of water pelting their bodies, but the two men had two very different reactions.

Why? --- Because one person prepared for the rain and another didn’t.

Dear friend, in 2008, mark my word: There will be an avalanche of blessing that will flow into your life. Spiritual blessings. Financial blessings. Family blessings. They will pour like a rampaging river over you.

Will you be ready for their coming? --- If you won’t be ready, you’ll just curse.
But who will praise? --- The person who has planted great seeds in his life.

Advice from Oprah about men

If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.
If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.
Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.
Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.
Stop trying to change yourself for a relationship that's not meant to be.
Slower is better.
Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.
If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve then heck no, you can't "be friends".? A friend wouldn't mistreat a friend.
Don't settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.
Don't stay because you think "it will get better."? You'll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better.
The only person you can control in a relationship is you.
Avoid men who've got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women. He didn't marry them when he got them pregnant, why would he treat you any differently?
Always have your own set of friends separate from his.
Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you.
If something bothers you, speak up.
Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later.
You cannot change a man's behavior. Change comes from within.
Don't EVER make him feel he is more important than you are... even if he has more education or in a better job.
Do not make him into a quasi-god. He is a man, nothing more nothing less.
Never let a man define who you are.
Never borrow someone else's man. If he cheated with you, he'll cheat on you.
A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you.
All men are NOT dogs.
You should not be the one doing all the bending...compromise is two way street.
You need time to heal between relationships...there is nothing cute about baggage... deal with your issues before pursuing a new relationship.
You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you... a relationship consists of two WHOLE individuals... look for someone complimentary...not supplementary.
Dating is fun... even if he doesn't turn out to be Mr. Right.
Make him miss you sometimes... when a man always know where you are, and you're always readily available to him - he takes it for granted.
Never move into his mother's house.
Never co-sign for a man.
Don't fully commit to a man who doesn't give you everything that you need.
Keep him in your radar but get to know others.

her choices, and another woman prepare.

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,

and all are different colors....but

You've forgotten your ex - More often than not, a breakup is followed by a significant amount of time spent thinking about your ex and wondering whether or not you made the right decision in going your separate ways. Depending on how long the two of you were together, these doubts can resurface again and again.

Ever since you met this new one, however, the thought of getting back together with your ex is the furthest thing from your mind. Come to think of it, you barely recall what you found so great about her in the first place.

9. You can't stop thinking about her - Instead, you are consumed by thoughts of her. She just pops into your head for no apparent reason, and you wonder if she thinks of you half as much as you think of her. You wonder what she's up to and even consider calling her (but refrain from doing so for fear of looking overeager).

But it gets worse. You're out with your friends and you see something in a shop window and think about how much she would like that particular item, or you notice a poster for a show that she would love, but normally wouldn't even have looked twice at it.

If you truly love a woman, you feel bad if she had a bad day or is upset about something. You don't try to cheer her up because you have to, but because you can't help it.

7. You find her quirks charming - The fact that she carries her passport with her everywhere she goes — just in case — and that, when she's eating, she can't help but construct every forkful so that it's the perfect blend of ingredients fills you with an inexplicable feeling of happiness.

She does and says things that make her different, and you like it. You can't quite put your finger on why, but it doesn't even matter. You like her just the way she is.

6. You have great chemistry - You can't be in love with someone that you have no chemistry with. If you seem to always be on the same wavelength, and think in similar ways, that's a great sign. If you also generate enough heat to set off a five-alarm fire bell, then she is probably someone that you could fall in love with, if you aren't there already.

2. Other priorities take a back seat - You used to train religiously, but lately, if she's free for dinner, you don't mind missing a workout. Not only that, but your workaholic tendency of bringing home your work on weekends to get ahead seems a bit excessive to you as of late.

She's the one

If you are currently dating a woman that makes you act in any of the ways mentioned above, then you, my friend, are seriously falling for her. It's time to put away the little black book for a while and enjoy the ride.

He "loves you" but he is not "in love" with you...

What does it mean when a guy says he "loves you" but doesn't think that he's "in love" with you?

Mr. Answer Man of Askmen.com says: It means that he needs to grow a spine.

Quibbling over shades of definition is one of the unfortunate things guys do when they're ashamed of their feelings, in this case being afraid to tell the hard truth that he's not in love with you. Worse still, it often occurs when a man is trying to have his cake and eat it too, e.g., stay in a relationship while not allowing it to advance beyond his current comfort level.

The antidote to such doublespeak is to hit it with a little truth of your own and then see what that reveals. If his philosophizing on "love vs. in love" were met with, "Fine. Call me when you're in love," Mr. Wishy-Washy might find his backbone pronto. And if the call never comes, so much the better -- you're now free to find a man who loves you enough to be in love with you too.

Don't throw your life away on absolutely Mr. Wrong because your biological clock is ticking.

Don't abandon your responsibilities but don't overdose on duty.

Don't keep others waiting needlessly.

Take care of yourself.
Don't wait for someone to take care of you.
You light up your life.
You drive yourself to your destination.

To fulfill your parenting fantasies, get a puppy.

To make yourself happy, pursue your passions & be the best of what you can be.
Simplify your life. Take away the clutter.

Learn a new skill.
Find a new friend.
Start a new career.
Sometimes, there is no race to be won, only a price to be paid for some of life's more hasty decisions.

It isn't true that life does not get easier with age.
It only gets more challenging.
Go on that trip. Don't postpone it.

Do what you have to, even at society's scorn.

Don't be afraid.
Don't lose your capacity to love.
Pursue your passions.
Live your dreams.
Don't lose faith in God.
Don't grow old. Just grow YOU!

When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you'll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give to someone is your time. Relationships take time and effort, and the best way to spell love is T-I-M-E because the essence of love is not what we think or do or provide for others, but how much we give of ourselves.
