3 Ways to Handle Haters

In life there’s no avoiding getting haters. We all have our own world views and most of the time those differences will lead to clashes and conflict. It’s even more evident today with the rise of blogging and social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. ...Here are three tips that I’ve followed and learned through the years that you might find helpful. --- Carlo S. Ople (http://www.carloople.com/)

1. Ignore them.

If there’s one thing you have to understand about haters is that they do not criticize, they attack. They take pleasure in putting you down. There is absolutely no point in trying to engage with them (especially online) because they’ve already made up their mind to shoot you down with their AK-47 even before you raise the flag for parley, lol.

Remove them from your immediate consciousness because they will just wear you down and cause undeserved stress. They can distract you from doing what you’re supposed to be doing. Remember: you can never please them or satisfy them.

What about the feedback that they give? If you have the strength, patience, and will power to see through the hate and find the nuggets of wisdom, then go for it. If not, don’t worry. You can always get feedback from non-haters and it will just be as good, if not better.

HOWEVER, if the time comes that there is a genuine window or opportunity for you to work with them and settle your differences, go for it. Take the initiative and be compassionate.

2. Focus on the work at hand. Keep shipping. Best defense is success.

If you’re worried about them tearing down your reputation then let me share one piece of advice that one of my mentors once told me: the hardest thing to argue against is success. If that’s the case then instead of giving your haters the time of day, focus on your work and in delivering successful products or campaigns.

If you’re just starting out, build on the little successes and let it feed your psyche so that you have the confidence, strength, and determination to follow through. Use your failures as a reminder so that you are more cautious and so that you don’t miss the important little details.

3. Spend more time with the people who really matter to you.

The worst thing you can do is get affected by haters and bring that negativity home to the people that truly matter to your life. Don’t get affected. If ever you do, cast it out before you go home. Draw strength, inspiration, and joy from the love of your family and real friends.

Most importantly, pray for grace. You will not be able to do this on your own.

Don’t get affected. Don’t get infected. Don’t spread it.

Focus. Ship. Love.

The 3 C's of Life

Choice, Chance, Change. You have to make the Choice to take the Chance if you want anything to Change. @WeThinkLife

Reverted to draft my posts regarding my "quest" for 180 Days to Istanbul. No, I won't give you or anybody else the satisfaction of being updated with my life.

I chose, I'm taking chances, and looking forward to changes :-D

The End Goal

Remember that moving on is the end goal – Expressing your feelings will liberate you in a way, but it is important not to dwell on the negative feelings or to over-analyze the situation. Getting stuck in hurtful feelings like blame, anger, and resentment will rob you of valuable energy and prevent you from healing and moving forward.

Break-up Recovery Pointers

1. Don't ever be sorry for being sad. And don't apologize for crying - what you are going through is completely normal and healthy.

2. Don't bother asking why.

3. Whatever you do, don't listen to any sad songs or music. It will only make you feel worse.

4. Beauty may only be skin deep and true beauty might lie in the soul, but it doesn't hurt to have your outsides looking good when your insides are badly bruised.

5.Don't be bitter.

6. Travel, or go somewhere you've never been. You need to get away from your immediate surroundings and realize that there is huge world out there with endless possibilities and billions of people that you've never met.

7. When you lock yourself in your room - miserable and weepy - the space picks up the negative energy and your room becomes a depressing place to be. You need to let out the sadness and allow some new air in.

8. Find a new passion.

9. Sometimes if you are having difficulty coming to terms with something, all you need to do is to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

10. Being single doesn't have to be about being alone.

Ang Stalker na nasa Sudan

Bitter.
Sour graping.
Hindi maka-move on.
... ang stalker na nasa Sudan.

Gestures of Affection

"shoulders pressed against each other, heads inclined toward one another, holding of hands, the hand or the arm resting on the other's thigh, arms around waists, arms resting on shoulders, and standing to the side and behind with the other seated, the former having his arms encircling the other..."

Claims?

Image Source: Philippine Daily Inquirer (30 June 2008)
Thee may sound morbid but thy are instructions (family, friends, others) in case a similar fate befalls thee:
1. Thou shall not agree to any resettlement or waiver. Let the court decide the just and fair compensation;
2. Thou shall get the best lawyers for thee (c/o Cynthia's siblings and Milette G.). The remuneration can be covered by item (1); and
3. Thou shall not endevour to retrieve thy body. Thee rather be entombed in the sea and than be retrieved whilst no person can agnize thy body.

n_i_n_e_t_t_e has updated her Friendster Blog

Need magsipag. Need rumaket.
Pass to the consumer ang cost ng gasoline. Sige, ayaw mag-school service?
  • Unang milyones sa edad y trienta'y singko - in english first million at the age of 35. CASH. In tagalog, kash. In USDollars (pero realistic ako kaya in pesos na lang). Yup, O*N*E M*I*L*L*I*O*N C*A*S*H. Not in term of properties or assets. Basta cash sa bank. At sympre dapat wala din utang o liabilities.
Eksena sa Umagang Kayganda this morning: meron silang segment sa show kung san they get poor people and kung ano ano makabagbag damdaming kwento at makalubag loob na background music. Ang siste, a celeb or an ABS-CBN talent will donate something to swap for money/goods na kailangan ng (exploited) poor people. To make it mas nakakaawa natangay pa ni Frank ang bahay nila.
Ano ba?!?!
Ako lang ba ang hindi natutuwa?
Oo sige, may natutulungan ang show. Atsaka wala sila makita trabaho?
Even Bill Gates, nagpuyat at nalipasan ng gutom yan bago naging milyonaryo.
So bottomline... back to work. Neet to act for my first millon in cash.

Will it be worth it? --- Part 1

An effort to practice "one carless day a week" by taking the MRT

A typical morning rush (GMA Station)

Find your own space, brace yourself and pray to survive

Frustrated riders --- because they were not able to (literally) push their way in the train? Very typical at the Cubao Station --- even at times when the coaches are not full, commuters from this station would still be pushing and gnarling at each other.

Still a long queue out...

Consolation for a 15-minute this-must-be-the-train-to-hell-loaded-with-people-believing-that-riding-the-MRT-gives-them-the-right-to-physically-hurt-and-verbally-abuse-others.

Ah, so delite-ful cheese!

How big are you?

Try to wrap your mind around this - it's rather dazzling to see it presented this way...

Beyond our sun... it's a big universe

Antares is the 15th biggest star in the sky. It is more than 1,000 light years away.

This is a hubble telescope ultra deep field infrared view of countless "entire" galaxies billions of light years away.

Below is a close-up of one of the darkest regions of the photo above.

Humbling, isn't it?

And how big are the things that upset you today?

Keep life in perspective. Be happy and don't sweat the small stuff!
